Challenges are a proven method for motivating employees to take control over their health and adopt healthy behaviors. FitLyfe 360 offers a carefully layered, state-of-the-art wellness challenge solution that enables a comprehensive, motivation-based approach.

Individual Challenges

Structurally, administrators set up individual challenges related to wellness issues such as fitness, weight, sleep, mindfulness, and hydration from a library of predefined templates. Administrators confirm or change the levels of achievement for users to choose for their individual goals related to the challenge. By giving users options for their preferred levels of achievement and focusing on individualizing goals around wellness challenges, people who are in poorer health related to the challenge can still achieve goals, earn points, and make progress toward improved health.

For example, the company may establish an overarching steps challenge of reaching 10,000 steps a day, with level options of 2, 4, or 6 days a week. A user chooses to participate in the challenge, selects their preferred, targeted level, and focuses on achieving that level of performance, such as completing steps 4 days a week or 6 days a week.

As an alternative way to structure a challenge, administrators could also set levels at 10,000 steps per day for 5 points earned, 7,500 steps a day for 3 points earned, and 5,000 steps a day for 2 points earned. Users can then choose which level they create as their target based on their current health status. This enables users to select achievable goals regardless of their current health status, practice and embrace healthy behaviors, and experience tangible health improvements.

Team Challenges

In addition to the individual wellness challenge, administrators can create a simultaneous team wellness challenge targeting the same wellness issue. For example, an administrator could establish a steps team wellness challenge with points awarded to the team that reaches the highest points based on the established goal of 1 point for every 10,000 steps.

There are two types of team wellness challenges: group team challenges, where users join a group and groups compete against each other, and partner team challenges, where two people join forces to compete against other partner teams. Team wellness challenges can be either time-based or point-based.

Challenge dashboards allow participants to monitor progress toward individual and team wellness challenges. An individual dashboard is created for users who participate in an individual challenge. They can review the challenge requirements and goals, see their individual goals, monitor progress, and keep track of goals met and points earned.

For team wellness challenges, a Leaderboard is established that communicates the highest point earners toward the goal by team as well as total team scores.
